Database and Financial Operations Associate

The Database and Financial Operations Associate is responsible for administrative database operations to support the finance and development departments. Reports to the Donor Services Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurate processing of daily donations and pledges via cash, check, credit card, direct deposit, and stock.
  • Prepares timely donor acknowledgment letters, invoices and receipts for individual, foundation and corporate gifts and grants.
  • Enter, update and correct constituent data in the 200,000+ database to ensure accurate reports and recordkeeping.
  • Create fundraising reports (various campaigns, events and mailings) and other database reports as needed.
  • Maintain records of all donations, pledges, and matching gifts through paper and electronic copies
  • Help to reconcile donations and generate reports for the Finance Department.

Provide support for financial accounting functions, including:

  • Assist in accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, credit cards and other expenses. Assist in annual audit.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably accounting, business or computer science.
  • Preferably 3 years’ database experience in a not-for-profit finance or fundraising organization.
  • Proficiency in database management, preferably SalesForce and Classy fundraising platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare information concisely and effectively.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year

Dementia  Specialist – Long Island (ADRC, an Affiliate of CaringKind 

CaringKind, New York City’s leading expert in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, is seeking a compassionate Dementia Specialist to support families and individuals living with dementia through our Helpline, Family Support and Education Services, and Early-Stage Client Services.  This position reports to the Vice President, Family Supports. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The position is primarily based on-site (75%) at the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (ADRC), an affiliate of CaringKind, with remaining responsibilities conducted remotely or in the community as needed.

Local Long Island candidates are strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide follow-up on direct referrals from physicians, social workers, and other provider partners
  • Conduct program and needs assessments with family care partners and individuals living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
  • Conduct information sessions and share information on CaringKind services and supports with healthcare providers and community organizations serving older adults and families impacted by dementia
  • Support CaringKind Helpline callers with information, referrals, emotional support, dementia consultations, and enrollment into CaringKind services and programs
  • Deliver evidence-based or evidence-informed services for family care partners and individuals in the early stages of dementia
  • Teach/Co-teach small group education workshops to build family care partners’ understanding and capacity to provide care across the continuum
  • Lead/Co-lead support groups for spouses, adult children, and other special interest groups (including LGBTQ+, young onset spouses, young adults, residential families, specific languages/cultures)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in social work, occupational therapy, nursing, counseling, community health, therapeutic recreation, music/art therapy, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of dementia, Alzheimer’s, or aging services experience required
  • Spanish language proficiency required
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
  • Ability to take direction and execute responsibilities independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual platforms; Salesforce preferred

Schedule and Work Location

  • Part-time position scheduled for 20 hours per week
  • Primarily on-site (75%) at ADRC Long Island
  • Remaining hours conducted remotely or within the community as program needs require
  • Occasional evening availability (approximately once per month)

Compensation

$27.00 – $30.00 per hour (good-faith range in accordance with New York State Pay Transparency requirements), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
